Monday, 12th November: More of the same, with a brisk south-westerly blowing the odd heavy squall through, along with some sunshine and cloud, though remaining mild for the time of year...

Marsh Farm, Sidlesham: There were seven Grey Partridges near the farm this afternoon. (TG-P)
North Wall: Fairly quiet on a walk from Halsey Farm this morning, with just a few Goldcrests in the hedges, c30 Wigeon on the fields and a Kingfisher briefly by the sluice at the western end of the wall. A dozen or so Reed Buntings were the only things noted along the wall itself, with the Breech Pool full of water and devoid of birds, save a few Mallard.
A Spotted Redshank was in White's Creek, along with c50 Black-tailed Godwits, 50 Redshank, 100+ Wigeon and a few Teal, with at least 500 Lapwing spread out from the creek into the harbour and including 30 or so Golden Plover among them. There wasn't too much else in the harbour beyond the regular waders and 200+ Brent Geese and Wigeon, whilst the hedges held just a few Goldcrests and Long-tailed Tits, plus 30 Linnets over. (AH)

Church Norton: This morning there were Goldcrests in the churchyard and a Greenshank in front of the hide, whilst a Goosander was out near Tern Island and around 30 Brent Geese were near the harbour entrance, including 3 juveniles. Also, a Short-eared Owl flew over the spit towards Pagham village, and along Rectory Lane there was a large flock of Linnets and oddly, two Swallows! (AW)
Pagham Lagoon area: There were over 250 geese on the Lagoon this morning - consisting of 100+ Canadas, a single Greylag and 150+ Brent - but little else apart from two Great Crested and 10 Little Grebes plus a handful of Tufted Ducks.
Along the adjacent footpath and hedgerows there were three Chiffchaffs and a Firecrest, plus at least 10 Goldcrests and a small flock of Long-tailed Tits, whilst a Grey Wagtail also flew over. (OM)
Chi GPs - Drayton Pits: I completed my (delayed) WeBS count this morning, but there were few highlights between the two pits, the best being counts of over 100 each of Pochard and Tufted Duck and 17 Snipe. However, the hedgerows and vegetation also demanded close attention today, producing 12 Chiffchaffs, 30 Goldcrests, a couple of Cetti's Warblers and a pair of Bullfinches; alas, despite all the effort, nothing unusual could be found amongst them. (OM)
Sunday, 11th November: Another fairly mild, if blustery, morning with sunshine and white cloud and a brisk south-westerly breeze....
