Selsey Bill: A quiet morning, though the first five Red-breasted Mergansers of the autumn were seen. Full log below. (C&ME)

Ferry Pool: This area was the most interesting place to be today, with four juvenile Curlew Sandpipers showing well with five Dunlin and two Little Ringed Plovers, plus the usual c40 Black-tailed Godwits and Lapwings on the pool and two Spotted Redshanks, a Common Sandpiper and a Whimbrel in the channel opposite.
Four Sand Martins went over west, but the bushes around the Tramway and cycleway were very quiet, though, with just a handful of Blackcaps and the odd Whitethroat seen. (AH/IP/OM/MJ et al)
North Wall: There was a Curlew Sandpiper in White's Creek this morning, too. (PC)
Church Norton: The bushes were very quiet today, with just a Spotted Flycatcher (in the car-park), a couple of Blackcaps and a Willow/Chiff seen all the way from the churchyard to the second Several and back.
The harbour was quiet, too, with a Knot, a Grey Plover, a few Dunlin and Ringed Plovers, plus 30 or so Redshank being about the sum, whilst a handful of Mediterranean Gulls were the only birds of note on the beach.. (AH/IP)
Long Pool: There were six Spotted Redshanks on the pool this evening, with at least two more in the adjacent channel, whilst there were also a Snipe, ten Teal and a dozen Black-tailed Godwits on the pool and two Grey Partridges in the nearby fields. (AH/S&SaH)

Ferry Pool: The pool held a Greenshank, two Little Ringed Plovers, two Dunlin, 70 Lapwing and 40 Black-tailed Godwits this morning, with two Buzzards at the back, a Grey Wagtail over and a Reed Warbler in the roadside reeds.
A male Redstart, a Spotted Flycatcher and a Blackcap were in the bushes nearby, whilst the Tramway circuit held more Blackcaps, 20+ Whitethroats, a Sedge Warbler and one or two Willow Warblers and Chiffchaffs, plus a brief Kingfisher in Red Barn Ditch.
A look along the new cycle-track to Medmerry didn't produce too much, though a Spotted Flycatcher, a Reed Bunting, a Reed Warbler, one or two Willow Warblers and 20+ Chiffchaffs were near the sewage farm and Whitethroats were spread throughout. (CRJ/AH/IP)

Medmerry: Earnley car-park to the Stilt Pool - The walk out from Earnley was pretty quiet, save a few Whitethroats, and a dozen Sand Martins and Yellow Wagtails over, and the banks were quiet, too, though half a dozen Corn Buntings were around the Yellowhammer Bushes and a Whinchat, three Wheatears and a couple of Skylarks were along the path.
Waders were few on the Stilt Pool, comprising one Greenshank (with another heard on the reserve), two Common Sandpipers, a Redshank and a few Lapwings, with three Dunlin in the channel opposite.
Among wildfowl seen were the female Pintail, 14 Wigeon and 30 Gadwall, but everything was dominated by the Canada Goose flock - c750 in number - and including the two Bar-headed Geese and eight hybrid-type Barnacle Geese. (AH)
Medmerry (east): Toe end - Breach - Six Wheatears were around Toe End and the rocks, whilst nine Sandwich Terns (one bearing a yellow colour ring on its left leg) were on the mudflats with masses of gulls. A distant Osprey then put in a brief appearance, but it was still enough to cause complete mayhem as just about every bird took to the air! (OM)

North Wall: An Osprey was watched from Owl Point early afternoon, as it fished over the harbour, eventually heading towards Sidlesham Quay and then towards the Long pool. Also present around the point were a Whinchat and three Wheatears. (AB)

Park Farm, Selsey: Around 50 Sand Martins, plus a dozen or so House Martins and Swallows were around the buildings, whilst a Grey Wagtail was on the compost heaps. Also, oddly, a flock of c20 Knot flew over, heading for the harbour.(AH/IP/RM)

Medmerry (east): Northcommon Farm to Ham viewpoint and the breach - The Little Owl was by the farm buildings this morning, whilst along the path there were three four Yellow Wagtails, three Whinchats, seven Wheatears, a Reed Warbler, four Willow Warblers and two Whitethroats, whilst seven Swallows and three Buzzards went over. Medmerry (west): Easton Lane to Stilt pools - Along the tracks and hedges this morning were a Corn Bunting, three Whinchats and four Wheatears, whilst at the pools the highlight were two Spoonbills, with two Common Sandpipers and the two regular Bar-headed geese amongst the feral Canada Goose flock. The area around the churchyard and hide held up to five Spotted Flycatchers, a Garden Warbler, two or three Lesser Whitethroats and Whitethroats, a dozen Blackcaps and Chiffchaffs and 20+ Willow Warblers, with another 20 of the former and a couple of the latter around the second Several.
About 20 Knot and 50 Ringed Plovers were in the harbour, whilst a single Black-tailed Godwit was on the second Severals and at least 40 Sandwich Terns were moving west offshore, most in one big loose group.. (S&SaH/PB/AH/IP/RM/AF/RJS et al)
