Church Norton: There were a minimum of four Redstarts along the front of the Severals this morning, along with a Blackcap, a Reed Warbler, a Chiffchaff, a couple of Lesser Whitethroats and half a dozen Whitethroats, whilst two Tree Pipits, nine Yellow Wagtails and c30 Swallows went over and a Kingfisher and a Jay were also about.
There wasn't much elsewhere though, with a couple of Blackcaps and Goldcrests about it around the churchyard hide area, and just a handful of Swallows along Rectory Lane.
In the harbour there were 16 - mainly juvenile - Common Terns and 13 Sandwich Terns on the mud, but waders were few, with a couple of Whimbrel the only things beyond the regulars, though what was presumably the Curlew Sandpiper from the Ferry was seen flying over. (MRe/AH/AB/CD/EB et al)

Medmerry: Medmerry Trail to Porthole Farm - There was a good selection of waders along the trail this morning, including a Garden Warbler, a couple of Lesser Whitethroats and at least half a dozen Willow Warblers, Blackcaps and Whitethroats. (KT)
Sidlesham: A Barn Owl flew over the B2145 before dawn this morning. (IP)
This afternoon, c200 Swallows and similar of House Martins were on the wires in Cow Lane, whilst later there were also a couple of Tree Pipits and c30 Yellow Wagtails in the fields there. (AH/PA)
Medmerry: Easton Lane to the Stilt Pool - There was a good selection this evening in quite still conditions, with c100 Sand Martins and c50 Swallows overhead, with a Tree Pipit among c150 Yellow Wagtails, whilst along the banks there were a Stonechat, a Yellowhammer, a Reed Bunting, two Dartford Warblers and eight Willow Warblers.
Also, two Common Sandpipers were on the Stilt Pool, with a Greenshank and a Kingfisher on the reserve and a Marsh Harrier, two Kestrels and three Buzzards were overhead. (S&SaH)

Ferry Pool: The juvenile Curlew Sandpiper was on the pool again early this morning, along with a Greenshank, a Green Sandpiper, five Common Sandpipers, five Avocets, c40 Black-tailed Godwits and c25 Teal, whilst later on two Whinchats were along the fence in the field, three Cattle Egrets were about and a Marsh Harrier went over. Mill Pond Marsh: There was a good selection present again this morning, including a Water Rail, four Green sandpipers, four Greenshanks, five Snipe, four Black-tailed Godwits and c20 Teal, with a Reed Warbler, a Cetti's Warbler and three Willow Warblers also seen. (MRe/AH/BFF/DM/SL et al)

Northcommon Farm: It was reasonably busy this morning, with five Spotted Flycatchers, a Lesser Whitethroat, four Whitethroats, three Willow Warblers, four flocks of Long-tailed Tits, two Stock Doves, nine Pied Wagtails, a Green Woodpecker and a Great Spotted Woodpecker seen along the hedges, and c30 Swallows, three House Martins and four Buzzards over.
Also, four Holly Blue butterflies and several Southern Hawker Dragonflies were about, too. (SR)

Church Norton: A few migrants were around again, despite the breeze, including two Redstarts between the Severals, with others by the horse field and behind the hide, whilst up to five Wheatears were spread around the concrete slabs and the spit and at least three Spotted Flycatchers were in the churchyard/hide area.
There were also lots of Whitethroats along the front and by the concrete wall, with several Blackcaps and Willow Warblers spread around, too, whilst c50 Sand Martins and Swallows and c20 House Martins went over..
There weren't too many waders beyond the regulars in the harbour, though eight Common Terns, 36 Sandwich Terns and c50 Mediterranean Gulls were among the roosting Black-headed Gulls. (AH/KJ/NR/BFF/DM/SL et al)

North Wall: A pair of Redstarts, two Wheatears, a Lesser Whitethroat, two Whitethroats and a Great Spotted Woodpecker were in and around the fields at Halsey’s Farm this morning, and a Marsh Harrier, a Sparrowhawk and a Buzzard were over Owl Copse.
A few Cattle Egrets were with the cows in Honer 2, and two Spotted Redshanks were on the Breech Pool, along with 10 Little Egrets, two Grey Herons and the usual Gadwall, Teal and Mallards, with many Swallows and a few Sand Martins overhead.
Along White’s Creek, two Greenshank and a Whimbrel were with the regular Redshanks, Lapwings and Curlews, and out on the mud there were lots of Ringed Plovers, a few Dunlin and a Yellow-legged Gull, but it was quiet around the paddocks, with just three Whitethroats and a Willow Warbler in the bushes. Runcton: South of the village this morning there were six Mute Swans, 30 Mallard, five Gadwall, five Shovelers, a Teal, nine Tufted Ducks, two Little Grebes, 16 Coots, 25 Black-headed Gulls, a Green Sandpiper, single Little and Cattle Egrets, two Common Buzzards, a Sparrowhawk, 33 Stock Doves, Green and Great Spotted Woodpeckers, 25 Swallows, 59 Pied Wagtails, four Yellow Wagtails and a Wheatear.
Also seen were two Roe Deer and two Brown Hares. (CRJ)
Medmerry: Easton Lane to the Stilt Pool - The most notable thing this evening was the number of Yellow Wagtails about, with c120 estimated for the number of birds in the various flocks that were almost constantly overhead.
Also, along the banks there were two Dartford Warblers, four Willow Warblers and seven Stonechats, with c50 Swallows and Sand Martins overhead, whilst a Green Sandpiper was on the reservoir, three Kingfishers and c100 Mediterranean Gulls were around the reserve and two Snipe, a Raven, two Kestrels and five Buzzards went over, but there was nothing on the Stilt Pools. North Wall: A Redstart, a Wheatear, a Lesser Whitethroat, two Common Whitethroats and a Willow Warbler were at Halsey’s Farm this morning, but it was quiet elsewhere with 21 Canada Geese on the Breech Pool along with eight Gadwall and 18 Teal, and a few Cattle Egrets in with the cows. A Peregrine flew high over the paddock and three Marsh Harriers were further back, but it was just the regular fare along White’s Creek with a Whimbrel and a single Black-tailed Godwit joining the usual mix of Redshanks, Lapwings and Curlews. Church Norton: A Garden Warbler was in the trees around the path between the two Severals and a female Redstart was on top of a bush near the path exit. Opposite the Horse Field, a Lesser Whitethroat was amongst the Common Whitethroats with a female Redstart nearby, and both a Stock Dove and Lesser Black-backed Gull flew over the Severals. with 4 Jays active nearby. Offshore 27 Sandwich Terns were roosting along with c.50 Mediterranean Gulls opposite the Several, whilst. four Buzzards were in flight together in the direction of the Ferry. In the churchyard, a Peregrine was on the dead tree and a handful of Willow Warblers were present whilst behind the hide there were two Spotted Flycatchers Two Green Woodpeckers and a Great Spotted Woodpecker were also seen, in the trees by the car park. Marsh Farm, Sidlesham: There were very few birds around the farm this morning, with just three Cattle Egret, three Curlew, two Great Spotted Woodpeckers, five Swallows and a couple of Willow Warblers to log . CRJ.
Mill Pond Marsh: The marsh was very busy with birders mid- morning and the were also four Greenshank, six Snipe, a Water Rail and three Green Sandpipers present with a Marsh Harrier showing occasionally over the far reed-bed. (BI/KT/IP/AW et al)
Medmerry: Easton Lane to the Stilt Pool - There was an increase in Sand Martins, c.100, and Willow Warblers, ten, this morning but otherwise it was still hard going in the windy conditions. However, a Kestrel, a Hobby, ten Yellow Wagtails, two Stonechats, two Whitethroats and c.20 Swallows were noted. The Stilt Pool still remained barren with nothing to record there. (SaH/SH)
