Church Norton: A single Marsh Harrier went in to roost in the Severals this evening. (SH)
North Mundham: A Coal Tit was in the garden today. (MJ)
Mill Pond Marsh: There were three Snipe on the flooded field this afternoon, along with a Little Grebe and half a dozen Shovelers and Teal, with two or three Goldcrests in the adjacent bushes. (AH)
Wednesday, 5th November: Another very overcast, but mild morning in a moderate to fresh southerly breeze........
Selsey Bill: The highlight of a fairly slow morning was the flock of 21 Shags that dropped in on the sea and drifted east together, with three Red-breasted Mergansers west, 22 Brent Geese east and half a dozen Red-throated Divers also notable. full log below. (AH/AW)

Ferry Pool: The Green Sandpiper was present again this morning, with a Black-tailed Godwit, three Avocets, c30 Lapwings and c60 Redshanks roosting at high tide, along with three Shelducks, c25 Shovelers and c80 Teal, whilst a pair of Stonechats were at the back (AH/CRJ)
East Beach: The Turtle Dove was again present around Marine Drive this morning. (SR)
A look around the pond produced plenty of Blue, Great and Long-tailed Tits and half a dozen Blackbirds, but nothing else. (CRJ)
West Itchenor: A Black Redstart was on rooftops near the Harbour Office late this morning. (PH)
Mill Pond Marsh: There were four Snipe on the flooded field this morning, along with a pair of Teal and five Shovelers. (AH)
Church Norton: A look round the trees between the Severals early this afternoon produced two Firecrests, five Goldcrests, two Chiffchaffs and six Siskins, plus a Marsh Harrier over and a Water Rail calling from the reeds. (MRe/CRJ)
Marsh Farm, Sidlesham: It was very quiet all round here this morning, with a Yellowhammer and a handful of Pied Wagtails, Chaffinches and Goldfinches just about the only passerines seen, and c40 Cattle Egrets and ten Little Egrets in the fields, with otherwise just large numbers of gulls, corvids and Starlings noted. Medmerry: Easton Lane to the Stilt Pool - A Merlin and a Marsh Harrier were busy hunting around the west side of the reserve this morning, and a minimum of five Dartford Warblers showed well along the banks.
There was a very high tide in the reserve, lifting the ducks and waders out of the channels, producing counts including 687 Teal, 442 Wigeon, 22 Shelducks, nine Pintail, 226 Lapwings, 200 Golden Plovers, 67 Redshanks, 21 Black-tailed Godwits, five Curlews, three Grey Plovers and singles of Dunlin, Greenshank and Snipe. Tuesday, 4th November: A fairly grey and blustery, if very mild, morning in fresh southerly breeze......
Selsey Bill: There wasn't too much going on this morning, though a Great Northern Diver was on the sea, an Arctic Skua dropped in on the distant feeding flock and a few Gannets and Razorbills went west. Full log below. (AH)

Ferry Pool: A Green Sandpiper was at the back this morning, and there were also three Avocets, c20 Lapwings, c40 Shovelers and c100 Teal present. (AH)
Selsey: The Black Redstart was still present in our garden in the middle of the town. (RS)
Church Norton: There was very little to report on the very high tide this morning, though two Swallows were feeding over the harbour, where a few Redshanks, Wigeon, Teal and Brent Geese were all that could be seen, otherwise, whilst a Mistle Thrush and a couple of Goldcrests and Jays was it for the churchyard/hide area. (AH)
North Wall: Five Rock Pipits were along the rocks, but it was quiet along the wall in the blustery conditions, with just a couple of Reed Buntings, a Stonechat and a Kingfisher along the bushes, and a Water Rail at Owl Water, together with a Little Grebe and a Shoveler.
On a very high tide, there was a lot of wader movements around the harbour, with 10 Snipe, 60 Lapwings, 38 Black-tailed Godwits, 40 Redshanks, a Spotted Redshank, 31 Curlews, 26 Grey Plovers and 36 Dunlin seen, whilst on the water there were 12 Brent Geese, 36 Shelducks, 150 Wigeon and 120 Teal. Medmerry: Windmill area - There was a very skulking Black Redstart at the back of the funfair this morning, but a pair of Stonechats and two or three Meadow Pipits were the only other things about, along with a couple of Mediterranean Gulls on the beach. (AH)
